Welcome
Welcome to our consultation website for Barnaby Place which introduces the site and will present the detailed proposals for the redevelopment of the site to the rear of Sussex Mansions, 63-85 Old Brompton Road after the public consultation.
Vectacase Limited is preparing proposals for the redevelopment of the site to the rear of Sussex Mansions, known as Barnaby Place. The proposals aim to create thoughtfully designed new homes that respect local character and support a greener, healthier neighbourhood.
The proposals will redevelop the existing commercial space, which is currently being used for temporary exhibitions and events, with a mixed-use development providing 45 new homes, a modern gym, a landscaped courtyard, and a shared garden. This website provides information about the emerging plans, explains the vision for Barnaby Place, and gives you the opportunity to share your views before a planning application is submitted in the Summer.
We are keen to hear from the local community and encourage you to take part in the consultation.

ABOUT
The Site is located to the rear of Sussex Mansions, close to Old Brompton Road in South Kensington.
The Site is currently vacant but was previously occupied by Christie’s as an auction house. The Site also encompasses a temporary exhibition space located at ground and basement level at 75-85 Old Brompton Road.
Barnaby Place has evolved over time in response to the changing character of the area. In the late nineteenth century, the site was recorded as a nursery before becoming a telephone exchange in 1899. From 1901, it was used as a motor car warehouse and later became associated with Christie’s auction house in the 1970s.
Old Brompton Road has long been an important route through west London, with origins often linked to the historic route between London and Chichester. Today, Old Brompton Road is a well-established local street, with a mix of shops, restaurants, cafés, homes and businesses.
